Gingerbread Man Mania!- Math Edition

This week Gingerbread mania has hit our classroom!

I had spent a lot of time looking all over for Gingerbread activities to do throughout this week.
There is a lot of great stuff out there!
But some parts of the packs are too difficult for my Kindergarten kids...so can you guess what I did?

I spent the last week creating a pack of math and literacy activities that my students can use at this stage in the year.

Here are some math activities my students are working on during Gingerbread week:

WRITE THE ROOM: NUMBERS

I hung up the number cards around the classroom, and had students look for the numbers and words, then print them on their page. They LOVE it!

It includes both numbers and number words to 20.

ROLL AND STAMP

Students take turns rolling a die, then stamping the number on their page with a Bingo dauber.

First one to fill their page wins!

This page is for use with 1 die. I also have made one that is for use with 2 dice, so that they have to add the 2 numbers together.

Gingerbread Measurement

Students used Unifix cubes to measure various gingerbread-themed pictures, then coloured in how many cubes tall on their worksheet.

NUMBER WORD AND NUMERAL MATCHING

This activity can be done several ways. They match number words with numerals.

They also match the ten frames.

ONE TO ONE CORRESPONDENCE

These students are using the 10 frames to show one-to-one correspondence. They are using Christmas-themed mini erasers from Dollarama. {You could use candy for this activity too!}

ADDITION

Students matched the domino pictures with the math addition problems, then filled in the worksheets.
{Worksheets are for sums to 5 and to 10}.

Next up...Gingerbread Man Mania- Literacy Edition!

You can find these activities and more {here}.

Wow! That looks fantastic! I collect gingerbread items; my kindergartners have now been hit with my gingerbread bug! The cookie "ran away" yesterday...I am looking forward to searching for him with this year's class.
