Teacher Tips For Managing the Noise Volume in the Classroom

I am linking up once again with my favorite blogging friends to share some fabulous bright ideas for your classroom!
My tips are about keeping the class volume under control.

Start with some letters that spell the word NOISE.

I used some sparkly craft paper and added magnetic adhesive strips to the back so it can go on my magnetic board. Of course it will work on a pocket chart or even written on a chalkboard just as well!

Remove one letter from the word each time the voice noise level gets too loud.

When it gets to NO, there is NO more talking allowed.

Another tip that I have used is the 'Whisper Bell' from Teacher Tipster.
Teacher tips on how to keep the classroom noise volume under control.
When it gets too loud in the classroom, just whack the bell, and the students all stop what they're doing and whisper "Whisper Bell". It is a great reminder for them to keep their voices down!

Telling the Easter Story Using Plastic Eggs Filled With Story Clues

Telling the Christian Easter story using plastic Easter eggs filled with surprises that tell parts of the story. #kindergarten #1stgrade #easter #bible
Every year at this time I use plastic Easter Eggs to tell the story.

They are dollar store plastic eggs, which I've pre-filled with a few simple items. After I read the story I ask them what they think is in the egg, as a representation of the story. They LOVE to guess!!!

HOSANNA

Island Stealing, Shark Attacking, Ambulance Driving FUN PE Game

Fun gym game for Kindergarten PE
OK, so you may have noticed that I'm not quite sure what to call this activity :) But my students are LOVING it, so I thought I'd share!
Fun gym game for Kindergarten PE
Islands (hula hoops) are scattered around the gym. When you're on an island, you are safe! A max of 3 people may be on an island at one time.
Fun gym game for Kindergarten PE
When you are not on an island, you are swimming around the gym.
Fun gym game for Kindergarten PE
Look out! One person is an island stealer, and he or she takes the uninhabited islands and puts them off to the side of the gym.
Fun gym game for Kindergarten PE
One student is a shark! The shark is trying to get you (dodge ball-style) as you swim in the ocean between islands!
Fun gym game for Kindergarten PE
If you get attacked by the shark, you need to go to the center of the gym and hop on an ambulance (scooter) to get to the hospital.
Fun gym game for Kindergarten PE
When your ambulance arrives at the hospital, you are instantly healed. You need to take your ambulance back to the center of the gym...AND you get to take the stolen islands and put them wherever you like!
Fun gym game for Kindergarten PE
It looks crazy, but everyone knows what to do, and is having a BLAST!
