Bright Ideas Blog Hop...Tips for Organizing Student Mail

I am so excited to be teaming up with lots of blogging friends for this month's
Student mail can be a HUGE pain. Pieces of paper everywhere, who knows if it makes it into the kids' backpacks at the end of the day!?

Here's what I used to do:
This pocket chart had everyone's name labelled in front of the pocket with their mail. Simple, right?
Wrong! Students were always grabbing the mail from underneath their names, and the next day we'd have to redistribute all the mail that was sent back.

Ain't nobody got time for that!!!

I am SO thankful to have found these Sterilite Locker Boxes...
See the tub that says 'Finished Work'? When papers are in there, they are ready to go home. Just grab the pile...
and drop it into the file folders.
My students have a Communication Bag
that's used to hold their agendas.
At the end of the day, they grab the papers from their file folders, slip them into the Communication Bags
and pack their backpacks.
The mail is simple to find...the girls' mail in in the pink box
and the boys' mail is in the blue box.
The boxes are sturdy, and stackable too!
Neat and organized...just how I like it :)
