Math Center Activities for Kindergarten

Math center activity ideas for Kindergarten
Here is our last round of Math Work stations for the year!
Math Centers and ideas for math activities in Kindergarten

POWER TOWERS

Math center activities for Kindergarten students
This fun, hands-on activity is from Teacher Tipster.
I used Dixie cups and printed numbers onto the bottom, using a Sharpie.
 Students take turns reading the number, then stacking it into a Power Tower.

The cups are stored in a Pringles chips tube.
{Of course, these could be made for math facts as well.}

I have also made a set for sight word practice...see that activity here.

UNIFIX CUBE ADDITION

Students select addition flashcards, then show the addition problems using Unifix cubes.

They use 2 different colors, one for each numeral. This provides a great visual for the two numbers being added together.

Very effective, hands-on learning!

BUG PATTERNS

I have a set that includes bugs & the accompanying pattern cards. Students use the bug manipulatives to make, then extend the patterns.

WORM MEASUREMENT

This set includes worms of varying colors & lengths as well as the accompanying task cards.

What a fun way to measure...using worms :)

POCKET CHART NUMBERS

Using cards 1-30 {from my 100 chart}, students shuffle, then put the number cards in order on the pocket chart.

NUMBER CLIPS

I made this activity last summer, after discovering lots of great classroom ideas on Pinterest.

I used stickers and bristol board to create this counting/matching game.
Students use numbered clothespins to match the clothespin number with the stickers of that amount.

BUGGY BINGO

I believe I got this from Scholastic. It is fantastic.
{Didn't mean to make a rhyme about it.}

This game is a favorite in my classroom. It is a great way to reinforce counting and matching, and it goes perfectly with our Bug Theme.

FILE FOLDER GAMES
