Here are some top favorite fall books for kids!

WE'RE GOING ON A LEAF HUNT
This book is great for story mapping! The characters head to different places to collect leaves...only to turn quickly around and head back again. I use this interactive chart for story sequencing {all pieces are attached with Velcro, so students can put the pictures in order AND change the directions of the arrows}
You can find the chart and lots more activities to go with the book {here}
LITTLE BOO
Little Boo tries his best to scare everyone, but it's not working! He needs to be patient...when he's bigger and is a jack-o-lantern he will finally be scary. SO cute :) Find lots of activities for this book {here}
ROOM ON THE BROOM
The flying witch keeps picking up more riders on her broom! This book has rhyming sentences, providing a little extra practice with phonemic awareness. For some fun activities to go with this book, head {here}
WHEN THE LEAF BLEW IN
When the Leaf Blew In is a GREAT book for teaching about cause & effect and story sequencing. A leaf blows into the barn, causing a funny chain of events! Find companion activities {here}
THE LITTLE OLD LADY WHO WAS NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING
This little old lady is not afraid of any spooky noises or scary things she sees in the woods...which come together to become a scarecrow. This book has great repetition of the sounds each part of the scarecrow makes! I've made some book companion activities to go with this fall favorite {here}
THE PUMPKIN PATCH PARABLE
This fall book is great for Christian schools or children's church groups! This book shares how Christians are like pumpkins...read it to find out! I have made a companion pack to go with the story {here}
STELLALUNA
For some reason fall means learning about bats! This book is great at teaching kids about what bats are like, their habits, what they eat, etc. It also compares bats to birds! Find activities to go with this book {here}
THE LEGEND OF SPOOKLEY THE SQUARE PUMPKIN
This book is about Spookley, a square pumpkin. It's a great story for teaching kids about being 'different'. I am currently working on a companion pack for this one...stay tuned!
