We just began our last round of literacy work stations:
SIGHT WORD BOOK
Our latest book, Colour Bugs, goes with June's bug/insect theme. No new sight words are being introduced, but this booklet provides a great review of the colour words.
They had to make sure their books made sense- the bug's colour must match colour word in the sentence!
This is a different kind of word search!
Students use magnifying glasses to search for the tiny sight words that are hidden in the picture.
When they find a word, they fill in their Word Detective sheet.
When the page is full= CASE CLOSED
So fun!
We are using a sight word page from Little Literacy Learners.
You can find the sight word page here @ Little Literacy Learners.
You can find my Word Detective freebie page here!
LETTER CLIPS
Students are using clothespin letters to make the bug words.
See here for my previous post about these letter clips.
I posted pictures of various bugs (as seen in the picture above) around the classroom.
Using a clipboard and worksheet, students hunt all over the room for the bugs, then add them to their list.
Click on the link for my "We're Buggy For Bugs" recording sheet freebie.
LISTENING CENTRE
Students are listening to The Roly-Poly Spider, then filling in a response sheet.
Not a personal favourite of mine {the spider makes lunch out of everyone she meets- gross}.
Hope you can use these freebies!
And if you're out of school already,
you could always use them next year!
