Word Detectives Freebie, Bug Word Clip Card Freebies & More Literacy Work Stations

We just began our last round of literacy work stations:

SIGHT WORD BOOK
Lots of Kindergarten literacy centers {many are freebies!} in this blog post.
Our latest book, Color Bugs, goes with June's bug/insect theme. No new sight words are being introduced, but this booklet provides a great review of the color words.

They had to make sure their books made sense- the bug's color must match color word in the sentence!

WORD DETECTIVES
This is a different kind of word search!
Lots of Kindergarten literacy centers {many are freebies!} in this blog post.
Students use magnifying glasses to search for the tiny sight words that are hidden in the picture.
When they find a word, they fill in their Word Detective sheet.

Students are listening to The Roly-Poly Spider, then filling in a response sheet.

Not a personal favorite of mine {the spider makes lunch out of everyone she meets- gross}.

Update: I have created bundles of month-long literacy centers, to make things easy for Kindergarten teachers!
The packs include literacy activities in these 5 areas of learning:
1)Writing 2)Listening to reading 3) Word work (sight words)
4) Phonics/alphabet 5) Phonemic awareness
The packs are laid out, week by week, for the entire month. They include 5 stations for students to rotate through per week, with all of the components you’ll need for each activity.
Assessment tools are included to help keep learning on track and to keep your students accountable.
Learning is spiraled throughout the month, to help students build on their prior learning.
Check out the first pack in the series {here}
